Gaius (Caligula), 37-41. As (Copper, 29 mm, 10.70 g, 6 h), Rome, 37-38. C•CAESAR•AVG•GERMANICVS•PON•M•TR•POT• Bare head of Gaius to left. Rev. VESTA / S - C Vesta, veiled, seated left on ornamented throne, holding patera in her right hand and scepter in her left. BMC 45. CBN 54. Cohen 27. RIC 38. A very attractive piece with an excellent portrait. Minor smoothing on the reverse, otherwise, good very fine.
